Naked City - Naked City

For Zorn admirers this is an inevitable part of a large and varied career, but for those who don't know who Zorn is, it will be an excursion into something that they could not even imagine :) This powerful blend of rock, jazz, metal and noise, linked with violent strikes of Zorn's saxophone, as well with fantastic assembled team of New York musicians (Fred Frith, Bill Frisell, Wayne Horvitz, Yamatsuka Eye), makes that music here resists all borders and genre limitations and give to us something completely unique.
Just the way I like :)

Sun Ra & His Intergalactic Myth Science Solar Arkestra - Sleeping Beauty

This album have very classic sound, experimentalism is reduced to a minimum and it is infused with beauty as the main characteristic. And because all of this, it seems like a curiosity in strange career of man named Sun Ra. But, the truth is that the enormous talent of Sun Ra and his followers have no limits. Freedom is in turning from direction :)

Listen to early morning or late evening. And perhaps even during the day :)

John Lurie - African Swim and Manny & Lo

John Lurie, a strange guy, we could say, and also versatile artist. He dealt throughout his career with music, with acting and painting, always staying on the margins of the popular, yet leaving a strong impression on those who had the antenna to catch his signal.
And as for me, the signal was too strong to miss it. And what about your antenna? Does it work properly?  :)

Don Cherry - Eternal Rhythm

Although not very oriented towards jazz, some of my favorite records belong, tentatively said, to this direction. How, you ask? The answer lies in the authors themselves, the individual musicians who understand music as something without a limitations. And Don Cherry, he is certainly one of them :)

Bill Laswell - Sacred System: Nagual Site

I don't know if you've seen the movie "The Fly", but to perform fusion, well, i think that is very difficult to predict the result :) Unless, your name is Bill Laswell. In this case everything goes smoothly :) Modern meet old, on this great album, and the result is nothing less than brilliant ...
Anyway, judge yourself :)

Bar Kokhba - Lucifer: The Book of Angels, Vol. 10

Aesthetically, this album has a very high value. Obvious joy of playing, unencumbered by genres and appealing on first listen, it give a combination that can't fail.
One thing is for sure, if they exist at all, the people who first heard of Lucifer through this album, it will be very confused with stereotypes of the traditional understanding of the world and heaven :)

Keith & Julie Tippett - Couple in Spirit

A man and a woman, a piano and voice, these are the frames of this great album. Does it seem too general and potentially boring?
Believe me, precisely this reaction you will not have  :)

Miles Davis - On The Corner

If I really run out of inspiration, the tactic is this: I turn on Winamp and the choice falls on the first heavy classic that caught my eye. Very simple, isn't?
Does this tactic makes sense, judge for yourself :)

John Stevens Away - Mutual Benefit

Monotonous travelling, from point A to point B, for me is something totally different, possibility to research endless variations. And if we blend music into that moving (we all have mini computers with us ) things get really nadreal, and this momentaly soundtrack directly have impact on reality and when you get there where you are going, you ask yourself: " How did i arrive here? " :)
And one of my favorite "teleport" soundtrack last few years was this, John Stevens "Mutual Benefit"  :)

James "Blood" Ulmer - Black Rock

This is one dirty jazzfunkrock record. All that in one? Well, that's what Ulmer's initial idea was and it is wonderfully realized. If you add to that Ulmer's highly original guitar playing, satisfaction is guaranteed :)

Annette Peacock - X-Dreams

Once, when i discovered this LP, it was brand new experience for me. I really enjoyed in Annette's exciting world, and after all, i still do. Not just enjoyed, i was sucked in. Annette ate me for breakfast, i might say. :)
And what kind of music is this, you ask? Sometimes is rock, sometimes is jazz, sometimes is wild, sometimes beautiful. And in the same time it is above all i said. Because, like every other great artwork, it dismiss genres completely, rising above it.
In the end, good music speaks for itself, all you have to do is to open your ears :)
