James Brown - The Payback

Knowing several live albums of James Brown, I realized that I mostly dissatisfied with them. While undoubtedly made of the great songs, I had objections, in the first place, with rarely changing repertoire, and for me never quite clear thing, completely ignoring songs from this fantastic album, which as a whole is definition of hypnotic funk ... You know, maybe the audience expected always the same hits, but I'm not interested in it at all. After all, there is the question of why anyone even record that huge amount of songs,  without giving them a chance to live ..
Basically, pandering to the audience, as for me, Is just tapping in one place and i have no motive to see artist on concert again. But, does that means you do not need to listen to this wild album? On the contrary, it should be consumed in large quantities :)

Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band - Between My Head and the Sky

Typical album by Yoko Ono means atypical album for majority. Some people say that is very difficult to survive her records, and yet, for me, it seem somehow very attractive :) A long time ago, i found somewhere, otherwise excellent record "Double Fantasy," by Lennon and Yoko, and her songs are fascinated me, in a way I was deeply emotionally touched. Neither this album is no exception, very colorful in sound, when near the end sail into calmer waters, I do not know whether I want to return to the port :)

Bill Callahan - Apocalypse

Back at home after nearly twenty days trip, I realized that I rarely listened to music, perhaps for the first time in my life. You know what, this is possible :) And yet, in rare lonely moments, with a fervor, I threw myself on this album, losing myself in it, in the mysterious and not always understandable Callahan's mind, still, feeling very strong affiliation to this strange world ... .
And what about you? Maybe you also belong there? Here's a great opportunity to check it  :)

Lucinda Williams - World Without Tears

Today's post fostered a classic sound. First reason for that is music itself. Quality of interpretation here is very high. Lucinda is at the very top of the U.S. country pop/rock production, her strong personality raised her high above the average. A second, essentially, i am alternative person. But, a long time ago, I realized one thing. If I, with my alternative thinking reject everything else, i'm then conservative idiot. Not to mention the sacrifice of various pleasures....
And precisely there is the key, in pleasures. Because, Lucinda wild and melancholy world makes me very happy  :)
