John Cale - Slow Dazzle

I first heard for Cale long time ago. I had his collaboration with Terry Riley, otherwise brilliant album "Church of Anthrax", on tape and I believe it was one of my first encounter with a different form of music. Wonderful time, when my musical path was closely connected with some interesting and today distant people. Around that time, this album came to me and it was something I kept coming back for years, enjoying in authentic vision of one seemingly classic sound .....
Cale, authentic savage   :)

Hector Zazou - Sahara Blue (MTM 32)

It's easy to guess what will be on Zazou's albums, amalgam of world and ambiental oriented music. Still, besides this limitation, he gave to us wide palette of sounds and emotions. And "Sahara blue" is a crown in his carrier. Based on Arthur Rimbaud poems, he teamed with like-minded people and created magnificent atmospheric world.
Of course, you do not have to believe me, listen to yourself   :P

John Cale / Lou Reed - Songs for Drella

Ok, i'm back :) Nine month is not so much time, i'm little bit (b)older, i had strange days and happy days, like every ordinary human being. Actualy, i quit my blogging, because higher force "killed" all my rapidshare and mediafire links, and i'm not Don Quixote at all. So, new scheme is very airy, online listening..... :)
And today's post? Pure magic based on opposite, i mean, Reed and Cale, i'm not sure, but they are not so much in love :) And what we got? Naturally, explosion. Musically, sometimes very beautiful, sometimes very wild, very minimalistic and very filled sound. Thematic, this is story about Worhol, 15 short observations. Don't read books about him, everything is here, lot a space to think about Andy's character. I always was against taking knowledge from books exclusively, i'm more into making my own picture based on my experience and some crucial information. And "Songs for Drella" is just that, crucial information.
So, if you are fan of Pop Art (i'm not) this is certanly must have. But thing is, this is much deeper, story about great personality and about unique view of the world, told from a very intimate perspective. Andy said in 1968 "in the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes" This obviously became true, but in that time fame was reserved only for very strong individual, and that is what he was.
