Cabaret Voltaire - The Crackdown

Although somehow sounds tamed, and for some fans it is a selling of their favorite band, this is really just another logical step in the development of the band, in accordance with the then music flows. After all, a million years away from commercial sound, this excellent album, with its twisted logic, constantly make my brain pulsing in rhythm :)

Sofa Surfers - Encounters

This record, with its dark atmosphere and urban rhythms, permeated with the occasional hit songs, at the time of issue, and even today, satisfied my musical criteria. And why is that? Well, since my computer dying just now, you'll have to judge for yourself  :)

I don't know if you've seen the movie "The Fly", but to perform fusion, well, i think that is very difficult to predict the result :) Unless, your name is Bill Laswell. In this case everything goes smoothly :) Modern meet old, on this great album, and the result is nothing less than brilliant ...

Bark Psychosis - Hex

The best music is that which is not defined, unencumbered by the rules of the game. Also, we can say that any definition steal part of our freedom and, somehow semi-consciously, I'm trying to get away from them.. And excellent collaborator in this escape, proved to be, are Bark Psychosis.

Richard Horowitz & Sussan Deyhim - Majoun

Characteristics of oriental sound, and thing that causes my respect for it, is that strong element of psychedelia. After all, the early encounters of alternative music in early seventies, and before that jazz, with oriental music, spread their musical horizons over the limit and that was not accidental. Oriental sound was shining with a splendor of timeless, as well as landscapes from which she came. And timelessness in art is an imperative ...
And today's post, although production is very modern and orchestration is a classic, undoubtedly belong to the Mr. Orient.

Howie B - Folk

I'm not sure what to think about this album. Sonically, the first half is like an extension of trip - hop in the early nineties, and all songs are melodically great, not only great, but also potential hits (at least in my head :). Then, a complete change of mood, did something crashed in the meantime? Dark rhythms, ambient and industrial sounds,  and in the end moving to a cosmic perspective ... Who knows...
However, after I listened to the lyrics, It was a little bit clearer (although, not so much :), maybe is this the search for the elusive freedom and satisfaction during the earthly life, an ancient theme in modern suit. And, I wonder if this album is just an electronic imprint of an ordinary lifetime :)

Solex - Low Kick and Hard Bop

If I know good, Elisabeth Esselink, the main force behind "Solex" name, has a record shop. Also, she has good musical taste. Third, it is the age of electronic music, copy/paste time. Under that circumstances she recorded a strange and very interesting, I dare to say, rock album.
Of course, this is rock for the new millennium  :)

Terry Riley - Les Yeux Fermés / Lifespan [Soundtracks]

The other day, I was in the kitchen, preparing dinner. At the same time, from the other room, although not so loud, began to spread the sound of Terry's album " Les Yeux Fermésf ", slowly beginning to incorporate in my kitchen reality. And suddenly, there was no choice anymore, i was his, completely. He was my flute master and i was his snake. And in that particular moment of slavery, unexpectedly, I felt completely free.
Life is strange, isn't?

Klaus Schulze - Dune

Inspiration 1 : My friend T. said that we can watch David Lynch movie "Dune" these days. I'm still waiting :)
Inspiration 2 : These days I am busy with learning and when my concentration had began to decreases, I searched for some ambiental sounds to keep my focus. The choice was "Dune" and it was wrong choice :) I was completely drawn into music and i enjoyed one hour, instead of learning :)
So if you have a job to do, do it. But, after the work is done, one possibility is "Dune" :)

Mark Stewart - Edit

What a nice piece of music! I always liked raw sounds. Today, music is too pure. This is not natural, man. And, in that case, Mark Stewart is my counterpart, that's for sure. In whole, this is tipical 21st century album, samples, hip - hop beats, little bit reggae. But, from the other side, everything here is wild, dirty, unpredictable, rich in sounds, he doesen't respect rules at all.  So, where is the catch? Well, Stewart knows what he wants and does it very well.

In the beggining, there was pop band. Once, when they discovered that pop form is too narrow for them, they rearrange their minds and recorded a number of ingenious albums. This is a continuation of that story, very exciting and free of rules, great pulsing experience.

Young Gods - T.V. Sky

Powerful and fresh exploration of such anachronistic genre like rock and in the same time tipical Young Gods album. Tipical Young Gods and Rock 'n' roll? Where is connection, you can ask. They are great Swiss band, but they music is more electronic, industrial, not? Well, if you ask question like this, problem is in you. Music has no boundaries. Just play it loud...
