Tom Tom Club - Downtown Rockers EP

Maybe they live in past, but in the other hand, their past is ingenious. And if you live in past, that's your present, right? Conclusion - They have great time on this world, and that is exactly what you can hear on this excellent EP.

Nearly God / Tricky - Nearly God

I saw Tricky twice. First time, in year 1997, and i remember it was very strong concert, it was almost rock, based heavily on bass playing. Before that concert, i heard rumours that Tricky wanted heavy metal group "Prong" for opening act, well, i didn't saw any connection here. After concert my conclusion was that Tricky just wanted to blow up some, by reputation, heavier band, and he did it succesfully. Second time, it was year 2010, and it was 100% disaster :) Band was playing sloppy, Tricky wasn't interested at all, and main sound creator was keyboardist who played some boring prog rock phrases, it was his concert all the way. I looked half concert and dissapeared into the night life of my capital city. So, what to expect from Tricky live? I don't know, after all his name is Tricky, but i'm not sure how i like that kind of  character :)
But, i'm not nobody's  judge, and his records always varied from great to good, and sometimes they're really blow my mind. And this particulary record, "Nearly God", is something i'm really enjoyed, very dark and slow, with some kind of sticky athmosphere, like shadow record of his first LP " Maxinequaye".
So, just stop think, wait after midnight hours and dive deep, strange and murky world waiting for you down there :)

John Cale / Lou Reed - Songs for Drella

Ok, i'm back :) Nine month is not so much time, i'm little bit (b)older, i had strange days and happy days, like every ordinary human being. Actualy, i quit my blogging, because higher force "killed" all my rapidshare and mediafire links, and i'm not Don Quixote at all. So, new scheme is very airy, online listening..... :)
And today's post? Pure magic based on opposite, i mean, Reed and Cale, i'm not sure, but they are not so much in love :) And what we got? Naturally, explosion. Musically, sometimes very beautiful, sometimes very wild, very minimalistic and very filled sound. Thematic, this is story about Worhol, 15 short observations. Don't read books about him, everything is here, lot a space to think about Andy's character. I always was against taking knowledge from books exclusively, i'm more into making my own picture based on my experience and some crucial information. And "Songs for Drella" is just that, crucial information.
So, if you are fan of Pop Art (i'm not) this is certanly must have. But thing is, this is much deeper, story about great personality and about unique view of the world, told from a very intimate perspective. Andy said in 1968 "in the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes" This obviously became true, but in that time fame was reserved only for very strong individual, and that is what he was.

Robert Wyatt - Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard

Robert Wyatt is very strange person, that's for sure. First time when i heard him, well, it sounded very crazy for me :) And in the same time i was fascinated. It was like cartoon, but most serious cartoon in the world, deeply emotional music.
Don't miss Wyatt in your life :)

Bob Dylan - Time out of Mind

Well, summer is almost over, so I'm back :) And since I'm getting older, I have to say, I am more conservative, it is a natural way, it seems. So, today's post is a classic - Bob Dylan. When we talk about Dylan all we hear is a bunch of annoying platitudes, protest poet, blowin in the wind, '60s ... something like that. And the reality is far from it, Dylan was very much alive in all of our present, in different ways, and it is an insult to put it in such narrow limits.
So, from me to You, Mr. Dylan, the year is 1997, and his timeless album "Time Out of Mind." Thematically, this is a lament about the ghosts of love, with a half-dozen great rock mid-tempo songs, just the way I like

So, if you find yourself in this, or maybe you have love problems, here you go, suffer or enjoy with Dylan, whatever you prefer :P
